The Good News: Announcements and Reminders. July 31, 2026
Upcoming Worship Services
The scriptures and hymns in worship come courtesy of the congregation!
Of course, this is always the case when we celebrate our annual summer worship
tradition: “This is Our Story!” a tradition we have been celebrating for 8 years! The
tradition began when Rev. Acton arrived as pastor in June of 2018.
Announcements
- Wellness Walking Celebration: Join us for a celebration of our recent Revolutionary War Battle Sites Virtual Walk. The celebration is a hot dog picnic which will follow immediately after the worship service today. All are welcome!
- Services of Witness to the Resurrection:
- Dee Foster, August 7, 1 pm in the Sanctuary. Reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
- Georgia Morrison, Saturday, August 29, in the sanctuary. Exact time and other details TBD.
- Needs and Resources: The Session as a whole and the Building and Grounds and Finance and Stewardship Teams in particular have been discussing ongoing needs related to our Church campus as well as the financial resources available to meet those needs. In the narthex is a hard copy from these ministry teams, giving an overview of the projects and possible funding sources. Included in that document is an invitation for further conversation after worship on August 30. Please take a read and respond as you have time.
- 70th Anniversary of FPCoG! On September 23, 1956, First Presbyterian Church of Garner, NC, was chartered! The Session has approved holding a Homecoming Worship Service and Potluck Reception on September 27th. Postcards are available in the narthex for people who, at some point, called FPCoG their spiritual home but have since moved away. Please contact Rev. Acton if you have any questions.
